Preview: The Wedding WordPress Theme

After releasing two themes (Portofolio and Elemag) last month, we’re excited to release our next theme called The Wedding. As you can tell from the name, it’s a wedding WordPress theme :) .

We’re still doing some test on the theme and we plan to release it in the next few days. Here’s a little teaser to get you excited as well!

timthumb.php Security Fixed

Mak Maunder, the CEO of Feedjit early this Monday discovered a security flaw in TimThumb script. TimThumb is script commonly used in many WordPress themes to resize images on the fly.

The only theme in our collection that is affected to this security flaw is nowLedge, we have release an update and you can download latest version of nowLedge 1.0.2 from our support forum. All you need to do is download the zipped theme file and overwrite your current timthumb.php file located in /wp-content/themes/nowledge/timthumb.php with the one in the new version.

Alternatively, you can update your timthumb.php located in your theme folder with the latest version in http://timthumb.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/timthumb.php

Pricing Changes

No, it has nothing to do with this post on WPCandy, we already planned this since January 2011. This is a really hard thing to do but have to do it so we can provide a much better support and services to all our members. We will roll out the new price in a few weeks.

The changes will not effect our current members, you will still receive full theme support and theme update from us without paying extra pennies.

What can you expect from this?

  • Better support
  • Improved and more advanced WarriorPanel (new WarriorPanel layout, build-in SEO options, framework update)
  • Improved theme documentation
  • More themes on ThemeWarrior (that’s for sure!)

We also will be signing a deal with one of commercial WordPress theme company, we’ll be working together to bring more themes to ThemeWarrior. More details coming soon!

Sneak Peak: nowLedge WordPress Theme and New WarriorPanel

Its been a while since we released a new theme, but that don’t do anything to keep ThemeWarrior alive and kicking. In fact, we’ve been busy developing new themes and a new theme options framework that will make WarriorPanel more powerful that ever!

Let’s Start With nowLedge

First, let us introduce you to our upcoming theme called nowLedge, as you can tell from it’s name nowLedge is a knowledge base WordPress theme. nowLedge comes with several new features including build-in post rating and post counter system.

New WarriorPanel

We put a lot of effort to revamp our WarriorPanel, we change our WarriorPanel layout and rewrite most of the codes from scratch to make the new one easier to use and have better code structures. Some of the new features in the new WarriorPanel are:

  • New WarriorPanel layout, more organized and have easy to use layout
  • Better and improved coding structures, we rewrite most of the codes
  • Seperation between theme options files and framework files (we plan to build single-click framework update soon!)
  • Image upload now uses default WordPress upload function
  • Advanced SEO options in the framework
  • Themes menu, in this menu you can see list of our themes directly from WarriorPanel and many more!

WordCamp Indonesia Here We Come!

Meet Our Official Mascot

We’ve been planning to create a mascot for ThemeWarrior since several months ago, we want this mascot able to represent us in the best way possible. So, two weeks ago I contacted a friend of mine -Kuswanto- from Petshopbox to help us create our mascot. I’ve known Kuswanto since two years ago and he’s known for his awesome characters and icon designs.

I told Petshopbox that I want our mascot to have some Indonesian-style. My mind directly pointed me to Gatot Kaca, a famous character in Pewayangan (a story telling cultures from Java)

In Indonesia Gatot Kaca is a famous character of Pewayangan (a story telling cultures from java), he has some of most superhero ability, flying but he can flying without wings (wow).
he was famous with nickname “otot kawat tulang besi” or “Wire Muscle Iron Bone”.

Theme Updates for HardWork, BreakingNewz and Picture Box

Today, we release theme updates for HardWork, BreakingNewz and Picture Box WordPress themes. For our customers, you can find the updates in the theme support forum.

We happy to announce that all of our themes now support localization, you can easily change the text in our themes to your own language.

Here are the changes we made to the themes:

HardWork 1.2 WordPress Theme

  • Update WarriorPanel
  • Update all theme files to adjust with the new WarriorPanel
  • Add localization support
  • Add default text to cancel_comment_reply_link() in comments.php
  • Update includes/breadcrumbs.php
  • Update some text in includes/warrior_latest_posts.php
  • Update Warrior Twitter widget
  • Remove post thumb from single.php
  • Add default-thumb.gif to images folder
  • Simplify home.php by splitting the featured slider and latest projects into seperate php files

December Full of Surprises

We have several things planned for December and I bet most of you will be excited about it.

First, we’re going to change on how we release our themes that will give benefits to us and of course to to WordPress community. So, we plan to release a free version for each themes that we release but they will have less features than the PRO (commercial) version. That way, anyone on this planet can download our themes for free and if you feel that you need support or want more features you can always go PRO!

Some of the features that are only available in the PRO versions are:

  • WarriorPanel (theme options panel that will make it easier for you to manage our theme)
  • At least 3 color options, unlike the free version that will only have 1 color option
  • Localization support
  • Theme Documentation
  • Support Forum Access
  • Access to Theme Updates

For HardWork and Picture Box, we will roll out the free versions really soon (probably before Christmas).

Another good news is, we plan to release our themes in one single bundle but with a really good discount! You can now buy your friends the themes they always wanted for Christmas.Oh, we have a new theme under development, it’s a blog theme and it will be included in the bundle.

We still have another surprise, but we’ll announce it later on.
